Hinterreit training circuit
A wide variety of activities for you to enjoy!
Elite skiers who participate in the Ski World Cup will naturally not be training on the same slopes as tourists and local skiers. However, these superstars still need to use the ski lifts. So, do not be surprised if you find yourself sitting next to a genuine star of the competitive alpine skiing scene whilst travelling up the slopes on the t-bar lift!
The FIS training circuit, which is located at the Hinterreitlift between Saalfelden and Maria Alm, offers perfect training and testing conditions set against the magnificent backdrop of the Hochkönig mountains. This training circuit includes a range of World Cup level slopes that are constructed to a standard that world-class athletes would expect. Two steep slopes, two blind knolls and a flat section across a 1.1 km long and 70 metre wide stretch, provide trainers with the opportunity to include every conceivable type of key ski move. In addition, the snow making system guarantees the best skiing conditions through to the spring.
Teams from Switzerland, America, Norway, Germany and many other skiing nations have also discovered that the Hinterreitlift training centre is a perfect place to train and often use the centre along with the regulars from the Austrian men’s and women’s national teams. We are delighted that the FIS training circuit is increasingly becoming a Mecca for teams training for the Ski World Cup.
