Summer in Maria Alm
Hiking, biking and fresh mountain air!
The impressive mountain scenery of the Steinernes Meer plateau and the majestic Hochkönig Massif, crystal clear mountain streams and fresh mountain air not only guarantee that you will have the chance to recuperate and relax, but you will also have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of challenging sporting activities. Discover an unbelievably diverse range of hiking and biking routes, which can be embarked on directly from the Gasthof Hinterreit in Maria Alm. The sun terrace at our comfortable guest house is also a popular stop-off point for tired and hungry hikers and cyclists. We can also recharge e-bike batteries.
Lace up your hiking boots and set off towards the most beautiful locations and summits that the Maria Alm region has to offer. Choose from a range of walks along the valley, leisurely alpine walks and high alpine mountain hikes. A particularly beautiful hike, which takes approximately three hours, starts from the Gasthof Hinterreit and leads to the 2,011 metre high Schwalbenwand mountain. The fittest hikers can then continue on over the high mountain path to the "Hundstein” where their efforts will be rewarded with inimitable views across the surrounding mountain scenery.
Golf, swimming, horse riding ...
Although the emphasis during a summer holiday in Maria Alm is naturally on hiking and cycling, the region still has lots more to offer. Water lovers can cool off in the Sommerstein leisure pool in Maria Alm and tennis players, archers and horse lovers will also find what their hearts desire. Golf fans will also be able to tee off on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Alps at the 18 hole Urslautal golf course. Children will find fun and amusement on our own playground, at the Natrun Adventure Park, which includes the Schlawutzel children’s obstacle course and the forest rope course, as well as at the summer toboggan run in Biberg, where they can speed down into the valley on a 1.6 kilometre track, which includes over 63 bends.
